Growing up with little money, I had no choice but to figure things out on my own. If I wanted something done, I had to learn how to do it myself. Cooking, remodeling my room, even changing my own brakes—I never had the luxury of paying someone else to do it.

That mindset carried over into my creative pursuits. While most artists and entrepreneurs rely on a team—producers, videographers, engineers—I became all of the above. I must admit, I do have collaborations with talented producers like BOofo & Carlos; however every beat, every cover art, every mix—I did it all myself. When I stepped into clothing, it was no different.

At first, it was just a side hustle. This was around the time drop shipping was booming, and apps like Printify made it easy to slap a design on a blank shirt, let a manufacturer handle the rest, and collect whatever profit was left after their cut. It was a quick way to get started, but it wasn’t me. The products felt generic, the packaging was basic, and the brand? There wasn’t one. I was just making designs that I thought looked cool. That was it.

Then everything changed. I quit my 9-5.

That decision forced me to take this seriously. No more treating it like a side hustle—I had to build something real. That’s when I realized clothing isn’t just about printing designs on fabric. It’s about expression. It’s wearable art. It’s confidence. It’s identity.

But the journey wasn’t smooth. Bills stacked up, money wasn’t coming in like I’d hoped, and before I knew it, rock bottom. But I didn’t quit. I couldn’t. Instead, I adapted. I learned everything I could about the game—about materials, cuts, quality, branding. I put in the work.

That’s when WYA Gear was born.

I wanted the name to feel like armor—impenetrable. A brand that stood for resilience. A brand for the ones who refuse to break, no matter how hard life gets. My first collection, Chrome Spirit, told that story. A story of struggle, of pushing through toxicity, of trusting the process and leaving our mark on this planet.

Now, WYA Gear is more than just clothing. It’s a mindset. A reminder to keep pushing, no matter what. It’s for the underdogs, the ones in their breakthrough moment, the ones who refuse to settle. Our mission is simple: be unstoppable.

This is only the beginning.
